Day 1: Guwahati Airport- Shillong
Arrive at Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong 110 kms 3 hours approx. En-route stop at Umium Lake view point.
Day 2: Shillong-Dawki-Mawlynoong-Shillong
Full day excursion to Dawki and Mwallynnong(known for its cleanliness) and back(90 kms 3 hours approx. one way)
Morning drive to Dawki, visit Indo-Bangladesh border and Umngot River (one can enjoy country boat ride here on direct payment basis) .Later on proceed to the Mawalynnong village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Later on short trek to the living root bridge(30 minutes) and explore the village.Evening drive to Shillong.
Day 3:Shillong-Cherrapunjee Local
After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunjee. We will sightseeing in Cherrapunjee visiting Arwah Cave, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls, Dainthlen Waterfalls, Eco Park and Rama Krishna Mission Museum.
Cherrapunji in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on the planet and the only place in India to receive rain throughout the year. The town of Cherrapunji is nestled in the East Khasi Hills about 50 km southwest of the state’s capital, Shillong. Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra or Churra, means ‘the land of oranges’. The cliffs of Cherrapunji also offer stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh. Night Stay in Cherrapunjee.
Day 4: Cherrapunjee Double Decker Bridge
After morning breakfast, the vehicle will take you to Tyrna Village, starting point of the trek. The path to the double-decker root bridge is three kilometers (nearly two miles) long. It has approximately 3,500 stairs and descends 2,400 feet. It will take you around 1.5 hrs while going down and 2.5 hrs while coming back
People also loves to visit Rainbow waterfall , which is around 45 minutes trek from Double decker bridge.
Please carry some food, water during the trek. carrying a rain coat or umbrella is advisable in the whole meghalaya trip. Rain can start at any point of time. Comfortable trekking shoes is a must. Please wear clothes in layers.
After the trek transfer to Shillong.
Day 5: Shillong Sightseeing – Guwahati (100 kms / 3 hrs.)
After breakfast visit Don Bosco Museum(Closed on Sundays), Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians and Golf course, Wards Lake, Lady Hydari Park.
After that drive to Guwahati. . Evening free for leisure. Do Some shopping nearby handicraft emporium. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 6: Guwahati Local Sightseeing
After breakfast visit Kamakhya Temple, Umananda Temple, Tirupati Balaji Temple, Navagraha Temple, and Sukreswar Temple (The 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva). This day, itinerary is depend upon time taken for kamakhya mandir darshan.
If time permits, guest can do one hour cruise on Brahmaputra.
Day 7: Drop at Airport/ Railway station
After breakfast, we will drop you at the railway station / Airport for futher journey as per your flight timing.
