Day 1: Guwahati Airport- Shillong

Arrive at Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong 110 kms 3 hours approx. En-route stop at Umium Lake view point.

Day 2: Shillong-Dawki-Mawlynoong-Shillong

Full day excursion to Dawki and Mwallynnong(known for its cleanliness) and back(90 kms 3 hours approx. one way)

Morning drive to Dawki, visit Indo-Bangladesh border and Umngot River (one can enjoy country boat ride here on direct payment basis) .Later on proceed to the Mawalynnong village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. Later on short trek to the living root bridge(30 minutes) and explore the village.Evening drive to Shillong.

Day 3:Shillong-Cherrapunjee.

 Morning visit Don Bosco Museum(Closed on Sundays), Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians and Golf course.  Later on drive to Cherrapunjee, 60 kms 2 hours approx. En-route visit Elephant Falls.

Cherrapunji in Meghalaya is one of the wettest places on the planet and the only place in India to receive rain throughout the year. The town of Cherrapunji is nestled in the East Khasi Hills about 50 km southwest of the state’s capital, Shillong. Cherrapunji, also known as Sohra or Churra, means ‘the land of oranges’. The cliffs of Cherrapunji also offer stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh. Night Stay in Cherrapunjee.

Day 4: Cherrapunjee local - Shillong

Morning sightseeing in Cherrapunjee visiting Arwah Cave, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls, Dainthlen Waterfalls, Eco Park and Rama Krishna Mission Museum.  Afternoon drive from Cherrapunjee to Shillong.

Day 5 : Mawphlang & Laitlum Canyons

 Morning drive to Mawphlang 25 kms approx., and short hike into the Sacred Forest.

One of the noted sacred forests in Meghalaya is Mawphlang, about 25 km from Shillong. The sacred grove has an amazing life form of plants, flowering trees, orchids and butterflies. An ideal site for nature lovers, the forest has been preserved by traditional religious sanction since time immemorial. Legend has it that the forest is protected by the  Lyngdoh clan. Though it was earlier ruled by the Blah clan, they struggled to control the massive forest and decided to choose another protector. The clan found a woman belonging to the Lyngdoh clan, who had a son. She acceded to their demands on the condition that if the five saplings she had planted grew into trees, she would let her son take over the forest. As it turned out, the saplings grew beautifully. (Mandatory guide have to take for this hike, on direct payment)

Later on drive to Laitlum Canyons, 35 kms approx. 2 hours approx. and Short Hike to Laitlum Canyons.

Laitlum Canyons is the perfect place to get wide, sweeping and picturesque views of the state of Meghalaya. The name 'Laitlum Canyons' literally means end of the world or end of hills. It is located about 45 km from the city of Shillong. Trekkers, adventure lovers and thrill seekers can have a grand time as the place offers long, rocky and lush green treks. The terrain, though a little difficult to navigate, offers the best views. A long stairway on the side of the mountain with about 3,000 steps is the only route between the village and the nearest market. The best time to visit the place is in the afternoon hours as mornings are usually foggy and the view cannot be enjoyed properly.

Evening back to Shillong 23 kms 1 hour approx.

Day 6: Shillong- Guwahati

After morning breakfast drive back to guwahati. If time permits, visit Kamakhya Mandir. Drop at Airport or Railway station. Tour Ends.
